The Heart Institute at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is actively seeking a motivated and dynamic Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The selected candidate will collaborate with a team of physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and RN coordinators working in both the outpatient and inpatient settings. The position includes caring for patients with cardiomyopathy, advanced heart failure, and those supported with ventricular assist devices. The selected candidate may provide cross-coverage for the transplant program, as needed. Responsibilities may include participation in outpatient clinics, rounding on select inpatients, placing cardiac imaging and medication orders and medication up-titrations, and participating in Heart Failure/VAD related research and registries. Nurse Practitioner candidates must have a national Pediatric Acute Care Certification. Physician Assistant candidates must have a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or Master’s equivalent) from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess a Physician Assistant Certification. A BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, and a Florida license must be obtained by date of hire.
Schedule requirements are Monday through Friday with on-call coverage (via telephone), as needed. This is a full-time employed position that offers competitive benefits and a compensation package that is commensurate with training and experience. Professional malpractice and medical liability are covered under sovereign immunity.
