The Epidemiology Program in the Public Health Sciences Division at Fred Hutch Cancer Center invites applications for a Research Assistant who will work directly with Drs. Trang VoPham and Seigi Karasaki in the Geospatial Exposome Lab. The successful applicant will have a background in epidemiology. Prior experience in conducting geospatial analyses is preferred, but not required. They will manage and/or assist with research projects focused on the application of geospatial science in cancer and environmental epidemiology. The Research Assistant will have many opportunities for authorship on publications and to present abstracts at scientific conferences.
Responsibilities
The Research Assistant will be responsible for:
- Conducting statistical analyses
- Conducting geospatial analyses
- Conducting literature reviews on scientific topics of relevance
- Submitting abstracts for presentation at scientific conferences
- Drafting manuscripts to be submitted to peer-reviewed journals
- Assisting with project management, development of study materials, and study communication
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS in public health, environmental health, or a related field
- Experience with statistical analysis software (e.g., SAS, R)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MS/MPH or equivalent in epidemiology, environmental health, or a related field
- Experience with conducting epidemiologic studies and/or statistical analyses
- Experience with geospatial analyses and geographic information systems (GIS) (e.g., Esri ArcGIS)
- Highly motivated and organized individual with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision

The hourly pay range for this position is from $19.97 to $48.08 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
