The General Surgery floor is located on north campus in the Schoenberg Pavilion and is a bariatric center of excellence. The nurses care for patients who undergo innovative surgeries including plastic reconstruction, minimally invasive surgery, endocrine oncology, and ophthalmology.
Common diagnoses: hiatal hernia repair, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, thyroid/parathyroidectomy, nerve transfers, enucleations and abdominal wall reconstruction.

4900 General Surgery cares for a wide variety of patients including Minimally Invasive Surgery, Bariatric, Plastic Reconstruction, Endocrine-oncology, Orthopedics and Opthalmology. Role Purpose
Under the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed.
