The Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Phoenix Children’s is seeking a motivated clinical nurse with a passion for pediatric oncology. Incumbent must have a minimum of 3 years clinical experience, preferably with oncology experience, or working as a clinical nurse in an outpatient or inpatient setting. The incumbent will work with the ""Solid Team"" to coordinate patient care, educate patients and families on treatment plans, triage parent calls, and work with the outpatient clinic and inpatient staff on urgent patient needs. Applicant will work closely with physicians, social workers, PAs/NPs, MAs, child life and a variety of other members of the healthcare team. In this role, you will also be providing guidance to a team of nurses who support the unit. You will be providing education/training/mentorship for the newer members of the team. This position will work 9- 9hr shifts 8 AM - 5 PM, M - F, NO holidays/weekends/call!! This position is located at our Thomas Campus (2oth St./Thomas Rd.)
This position coordinates the patient care services, workflow, and activities provided by nursing and support staff of assigned program. This position provides guidance, support, and direction to staff to ensure consistent provision of developmentally appropriate quality patient care in accordance with all applicable federal, regulatory, and professional standards and requirements.
Education
Bachelors degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
Masters degree in Nursing. (Preferred)
Experience
Three years clinical practice experience. (Required)
Experience with pediatric patient populations. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN license OR an RN license from a compact state with multi-state privileges OR ability to establish required Arizona RN licensure prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. (Required)
