Established in 1997 and now a 203-bed hospital, AdventHealth Celebration Health was designed as a Mediterranean resort-style facility to serve as a cornerstone of health in Disney’s planned community of Celebration, Florida
The hospital consistently delivers a state-of-the-art healing environment to residents of Osceola, Orange, Polk and Lake Counties, as well as to visitors from across the United States and the world. The Imaging department at AdventHealth Celebration Health is integrally involved across the spectrum of patient care, assisting medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of patients ranging from routine imaging studies to advanced interventional procedures. Annually, Imaging at Celebration Health performs 132,000 procedures across emergency, inpatient, surgical, and outpatient settings. The department operates within the hospital and services the greater Osceola community. The Imaging team includes more than 100 skilled and engaged staff including Radiologists, Technologists, Nurses, and support staff, working to ensure the patients receive appropriate, quality procedures and results at the right time.
The role you’ll contribute:
Utilizes knowledge and skill to care for the adult patient in a clinical setting.
Documents essential history information and physical exam components that support the study protocol.
Appropriate counsels, referrals and orders as documented on the record. Interprets diagnostic testing appropriately; refers abnormal results to physician for review when necessary.
Appropriately refers to supervising physician or other healthcare providers when needed.
Maintains an active presence in local and national chapters of professional associations.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
If Nurse Practitioner - must have successfully completed undergraduate and Masters level-nursing programs, passed state boards, and achieved ARNP status.
Individuals who completed their training prior to January 1, 2001, shall not be required to hold a Masters degree.
If Physician Assistant - must hold a baccalaureate degree, or a minimum of two years of college credits, and have graduated from a physician assistant program approved by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), the successor program to CAAHEP
> 5 years experience in clinical or research practice
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
Experience in research environment
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
If Nurse Practitioner:
Must hold valid, current State of Florida advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) license
Prescriptive authority for the State of Florida
Must be certified by:
the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or
the National Certification Corporation (NCC) or
the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
If Physician Assistant:
Must hold a valid, current State of Florida physician assistant license
If Physician AssistantCertified (PA-C), must have taken and successfully passed the initial certifying examination by the National Commission on Certification for Physicians Assistants (NCCPA)
PA-Cs must maintain certification by recertifying every six years through the NCCPA examination process
Including 100 approved CME hours every two years
The temporary state license issued to the graduated Physician Assistant is considered a valid/ current license until such time the Physician Assistant is a PA-C
Job Summary:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides clinical assessment and care, within the scope of licensure and in accordance with trial protocols, FDA Regulations, and ICH/GCP Guidelines, for TRI research volunteers participating in Phase I-IV industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated/behavior focused clinical trials. The APRN, under the supervision of the Physician, is responsible for performing study-related physical exams and follow-up assessments; ordering and interpreting study-related diagnostic tests (lab, imaging, ECG, etc.); evaluating and treating adverse events; and performing study-related procedures. The APRN communicates appropriately with volunteers and collaborates effectively with investigators, project managers, research coordinators, and other staff, thereby contributing to the efficient functioning of the TRI/CHR. The APRN participates in internal and/or external training programs to stay current on industry trends and skills applicable to research and clinical care. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
