A Post-Doctoral Research Fellow opportunity is offered in the Division of Public Health Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Christopher Li to become part of their research team focused on colorectal cancer disparities. Building upon long term follow-up of population-based epidemiological cohort studies, our group has developed a diverse research portfolio that integrates traditional clinical epidemiological measurements, genetics (GWAS, whole genome sequencing), bulk tumor and spatial transcriptomics, evaluation of the tumor microbiome, and electronic health record data.
Responsibilities
The candidate will join a team focused on the study of colorectal cancer disparities with an emphasis on research that engages Alaska Native people. Specifically, they will be responsible for designing, implementing, and/or analyzing quantitative studies that will advance our understanding of these disparities. The candidate will work with a highly collaborative multidisciplinary research team to perform advance statistical analyses, implement unique qualitative methodology, and publish research results as first author. Opportunities also exist for grant writing, study management, training of junior trainees, and contributing to other manuscripts as co-author. Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A doctoral degree (PhD or ScD) in Epidemiology, Human Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics or related field or a MD, DDS, or DVM degree combined with training in human genetics or epidemiology at the PhD or Master's levels (or equivalent) is/are required.
- Highly motivated individual with outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
The annual base salary range for this position is from $77,976 to $95,014 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
