Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse in the Ambulatory Unit for Glasser Brain Tumor Center at Overlook Medical Center to work 8AM-4PM.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Taking vitals ,history, medication review, allergies, and entering into medical record
- Able to contact and coordinate care with various departments such as; neurosurgery, radiation oncology, lab, and infusion center .
- Understand basic CNS anatomy , primary tumors , key pathology markers
- Understand neurologic symptoms and "red flags"to report
- Order and schedule any additional imaging studies with appropriate departments; MRI, Vascular, CT, PFTs
- Coordinate infusions and intrathecal chemotherapy
- Understanding primary drugs : Temozolomide, Procarbazine, CCNU, Vincristine, and Avastin
- Understand treatment plans and monitoring for temozolomide,PCV, CCNU, and Avastin
- Comfortable teaching treatment plans and chemotherapy to patients/families
- Work collaboratively with Social Worker/Neurosurgical team to engage patients and families
- Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
- Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
- Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
- RN position will lead daily clinics, collaborating with provider and support staff responsible for medication pre-authorizations, disability paperwork, triaging patients
Minimum Education:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required
- BSN required
- Masters Degree preferred
Minimum Experience:
- Experience in an ambulatory care setting preferred
- Outpatient nursing experience preferred
- Oncology and/or Neurology experience preferred
Licenses/Certification:
- Valid New Jersey Nursing License Required
- BLS Certification Required
- OCN Specialty Certification Preferred
Qualifications:
- Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
