The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Tampa
· AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, women’s services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year.

The role you’ll contribute:
As a Childbirth Educator with AHT, you will educate our families regarding breastfeeding, infant care, childbirth preparation, grandparenting, maternal/infant support, and infant CPR. This will be done through our childbirth education classes, virtually and in-person, as needed.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
· Provides accurate and consistent information to participants regarding childbirth education, teaching according to AHT policies & procedures.
· Keeps supplies clean and orderly according to policy.
· Participates in opportunities to educate the community of childbirth education as needed.
· Maintains satisfactory participation and attendance at required and non-required meetings and staff development programs.
· Practices adherence to the hospital confidentiality policy.
· Uses a variety of teaching techniques related to childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, infant care, maternal/infant support, and Safe Sleep practices.
· Meets educational needs of participants.
· Discusses Infant Safe Sleep guidelines in all classes.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
· Registered Nurse (RN).
· Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
· 1 Related Experience.
· International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).
· Lactation Counselor Certification (LCC).
· Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC).
