Summary

The Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) practices in Radiation Oncology Service to provide a full range of services emphasizing quality - timeliness - and the advancement of the Veterans Affairs (VA) mission. The APN provides advanced clinical practice - consultation - and management.

Duties

• Duties include but are not limited to: Clinical assessment and evaluation
• Health care management of assigned veteran patients with acute and chronic illnesses
• Ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic studies
• Consultation and referrals
• Patient follow-up - and procedures that may include performing or assisting with marker seed placement - volume studies - and other minor procedures performed in the clinic setting
• Patient - family - and staff education and counseling
• Clinical research
• Administrative activities - including performance improvement activities - committee and task force assignments - and administrative - research - and non-clinical tasks as assigned
• Collaborating with patients - families - and health care practitioners to develop - implement treatment plans - and evaluate health outcomes
• Work Schedule: Monday through Friday - 8:00AM to 4:30PM Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual or remote position
