As an Oncology Nurse Navigator, you will play a crucial role in coordinating care for oncology patients by following up with both patients and providers to ensure completion of necessary labs, imaging, consults, and orders. Your primary responsibility will be to guide patients through the process of scheduling appointments and making sure they are aware of the healthcare professionals they will be meeting. You will work closely with the oncology team to ensure that patients have completed all the essential tasks required for a comprehensive oncology review and treatment plan. Your compassion and communication skills will be essential in supporting patients and their families through this challenging journey. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between patients, healthcare providers, and support services to ensure seamless delivery of care.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in oncology nursing and have a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by oncology patients. Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are vital in this role to track and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively communicate with patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers. This position requires a commitment to providing patient-centered care and advocating for the needs of oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.
Valid RN license
Minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience
OCN Certification and/or ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Administration Certification
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Empathy and compassion towards oncology patients and their families
