In this exciting and rewarding position, you will provide exceptional nursing care for our patients. You will offer guidance to team members by supervising nursing interventions and assigning related tasks. You will also assess patient, family, and staff learning needs, deliver appropriate clinical education, and promote effective working relationships. This involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement a care plan, including providing detailed care instructions. This position has 24 hour/day, 7 day/week responsibility and oversight of the Pediatric Oncology Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Pediatric Oncology Unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in alignment with UCLA Health's standards of excellence.
Provide direct supervision and support to nursing staff, guiding clinical interventions and assigning tasks effectively.
Conduct assessments of patient, family, and staff learning needs; develop and deliver appropriate educational programs.
Foster effective working relationships within the interdisciplinary team, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care.
Develop and implement comprehensive care plans, providing detailed care instructions to ensure patient safety and well-being.
Oversee the fiscal management of the unit, including budgeting and resource allocation.
Manage human resources functions, including staff recruitment, retention, and performance evaluations.
Ensure effective materials management to support clinical operations.
Maintain open and effective communication channels within the unit and with other departments.
Salary range: $157,400 - $380,600 annually
Qualifications
We’re seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated nursing professional with:
Current, valid California RN license required
MSN or BSN with a Master’s degree in a related field required
5 years of Pediatric RN experience required; Pediatric Oncology RN experience, preferred
3 years of leadership or management experience required
BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association required
Nursing Professional Leadership certification (i.e. ANCC or AONL) preferred
