SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Registered Nurse Clinical Staff Leader will ensure clinical care delivery and ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will be involved in providing clinical patient care. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will assist in ensuring the quality of patient care delivery in a specific patient care area and will serve as a role model for professional nursing practice. The RN Clinical Staff Leader will review appropriate staffing based on patient acuity and patient needs and assess nursing service needs relative to the needs of patients within the unit and recommend corrective actions when appropriate. This role is 20% administrative and 80% clinical allowing our exceptional professionals to maintain their competency and skill while developing into a leadership role. Registered Nurses in the Medical Intermediate Care Unit (MIMCU) are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a medically complex population of patients. This 20-bed multidisciplinary unit offers excellent nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 or 2:1, so you as the RN, can truly make an impact on patients and their families. Our team uses advanced technologies such as virtual ICU services, arterial line monitoring, and end-tidal CO2 monitoring to treat a variety of conditions including multi-system organ failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, complex hematology and oncology, gastrointestinal dysfunction, renal failure, liver failure, substance withdrawal, acid-base and electrolyte imbalances, and endocrine emergencies. In addition, the nurses in the MIMCU are trained to care for patients requiring chronic mechanical ventilation via the tracheostomy.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Nursing required
Two (2) years clinical experience required
Progressive leadership experience required
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.
AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
