Schedule: Full Time

Shift: Mondays – Fridays (8 am – 5 pm)

Location: 2501 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, 32804 / may float to Celebration office as needed

The role you’ll contribute:

The Oncology RN Navigator coordinates all services required to provide multidisciplinary, quality assured, and appropriate care to oncology patients. The RN Navigator serves as a primary point of contact for patients referred to oncology outpatient services to assure patients have appropriate and timely imaging, infusion, lab, surgery, and physician or APP follow up care. In addition, this position assists in obtaining authorizations for oncology care including medical office procedures. The RN Navigator serves as a resource for patients, physicians, and others serving in the role of coordinating care for oncology patients. The RN Navigator actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that fosters whole person care.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

• Collaborates with Imaging Coordinator, AHCI RN Navigator, and referring providers in navigating patients from treatment planning, medical management, and surveillance assuring patients have appropriate, timely medical and supportive services.
• Serve as an education resource for patients and families on treatment planning and medical management.
• Assists in obtaining necessary authorizations for oncology visits and outpatient, medical office procedures.
• Facilitates communication between healthcare team, patients, other departments, and outside entities by answering phone calls, responding to emails and messages to/from EMR and patient portal.
• Act as a liaison across multidisciplinary team to ensure proper orders, medical records, consents, and any other required documentation/criteria are received.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• 1 professional nursing experience
• Ability to provide age-appropriate cancer education.
• Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize in-house and external oncology resources.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure Current valid State of Florida RN license
• BCLS - Basic Life Support
• OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification National Certification: Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) through the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation Preferred

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing
• 1 professional nursing experience in oncology
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Teams
• Proficient with electronic medical record system such as Epic
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
