Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is an independent, nonprofit organization providing adult cancer treatment and groundbreaking research focused on cancer and infectious diseases. Based in Seattle, Fred Hutch is the only National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center in Washington.

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate billing of hospital claims. This includes the monitoring of claim edits and workqueues along with claim correction. This work is done within hospital billing system and clearinghouse.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and clear claim edits in billing system workqueues.
• Monitor and correct claims within the clearinghouse system.
• Prepare and mail hardcopy hospital claims to appropriate payor.
• Update demographic and insurance information within patient record.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of one year experience in a business setting.
• Ability to use a computer keyboard and mouse, navigate computer programs, and use email in a business setting.
• Ability to communicate verbally in person, on the phone, and in writing in a clear and concise manner.

Preferred:

• Experience in healthcare billing preferred.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $25.22 to $35.90 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
