The role you’ll contribute:
This is a twofold position with both Director level duties combined with broader organization wide cancer service line duties. This position directs the operational and administrative functions of the Cancer Center and coordinates the various cancer related service lines for Gordon Hospital. In addition to performing all management aspects of the cancer center at Gordon Hospital this position will work with physicians, other Directors and GH administration to strategically envision and develop a seamless and comprehensive cancer program. Under the Cancer Center Director role, this position supervises technical procedures and monitors performance improvement program; develops and ensures adherence to departmental budgets; and interacts with medical staff and various hospital staff to coordinate services and resolve problems.

Responsible for the management of Oncology Services.
Participation in budget and staffing development plans for fiscal year as well as meeting and maintaining the established budgets and plans.
Maintaining the Human Resources for all areas including evaluations, discipline, training and education.
Applying and developing departmental policies and procedures for all areas in cooperation with administration and other interacting departments.
Demonstrates support for hospital philosophy, goals and objectives and communicate it to his/her subordinates.
Assumes authority, accountability and responsibility for the formal and informal directions of the employees under his/her direction.
Completes and updates job descriptions for all departmental positions.
Counsels employees and provide documentation of exemplary and unsatisfactory work performance in a timely manner, (at the time of occurrences). Responsible for the hiring, firing and performance evaluations. Follows progressive discipline procedures and takes appropriate action according to policy and procedure.
Participates actively in improving organizational performance by demonstrating involvement in the implementation of processes to measure, assess and improvement the performance of the hospital’s governance, management, clinical and support processes (PI).
Anticipates and plans for the purchase and /or replacement of department equipment and budgets accordingly.
Conducts monthly staff meetings and maintain minutes and attendance information on file.
Organization Wide Cancer Services
·Manages the COC accreditation process and serves on the GH cancer committee.
·Strategically reviews GH cancer services and develops an integrated plans for those services.
·Develops a growth plan for adding additional cancer service lines.
·Strategically works with GH marketing and involved physicians and Directors to lead a process for developing a comprehensive marketing plan for cancer services.
Qualifications
What you will need?
Associates degree required
A minimum of five years healthcare related management experience
BLS
Bachelors or Masters Degree preferred in a related field preferred
RN State of Georgia preferred
Knowledge of Radiation and Medical Oncology preferred
