APIC Consulting is actively seeking an experienced CIC®-certified Infection Preventionist (IP) with a strong oncology background to join us for a full-time, temporary, on-site interim position. We are looking for IPs who are passionate about enhancing patient care in oncology environments and are willing to temporarily relocate as necessary to contribute to this project.

 Responsibilities Include:

• Full-time hybrid support at 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with one to two weekend days per month 
• Ongoing risk assessments, reporting findings, and making recommendations for implementation 
• Reviewing written policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, standards, and best practices 
• Preparing staff and facilities for The Joint Commission accreditation surveys to ensure readiness and compliance 
• Providing infection prevention and control (IPC) mentorship to IPs and/or IPC staff members 
• Delivering training for staff related to healthcare-associated IPC tasks 
• Covering employee health, including blood-borne pathogen exposure and return-to-work guidance 
• Performing IPC rounding, Environment of Care (EOC) assessments, and on-the-spot staff IPC training and education 
• Reviewing and delivering daily, weekly, and on-demand data reports to ensure accurate surveillance and reporting 
• Providing staff training for surgical site infection (SSI) prevention and control 
• Assisting with quality improvement projects 
• Other duties as requested by the Client 

Requirements: 

• CIC® certification
• Strong IP background in oncology (5+ years of oncology experience preferred)
• Willingness to travel and temporarily relocate
• Technologically savvy EMR, surveillance, Microsoft 365, data analytics
• Full-time availability
