We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Financial Reporting and Business Process Management functions that are in support of the research and corporate lines of business. The Finance Manager will influence decision-making towards the organization's annual and long-term financial health by combining technical and financial expertise with tactical vision and leadership. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to ensure accurate and timely financial planning and analysis.
This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely.
Responsibilities
Financial Reporting:
- Lead the preparation and distribution of timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual results, to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve financial reporting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance with accounting standards.
- Partner with Data Management Team in the use of financial reporting tools and systems (e.g., ERP, BI tools), ensuring data integrity, efficiency, and accuracy in report generation.
Business Process Management and Improvement
- Develop and standardize financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment across all business units.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for key financial processes, ensuring they are clearly defined, well-understood, and followed by all relevant stakeholders.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions, reducing manual intervention and increasing efficiency in financial data management and reporting.
- Continuously improve existing processes to increase efficiency and accuracy while enhancing the decision-making process for senior leadership.
- Oversee and manage key FP&A projects, ensuring that all project timelines and objectives are met.
Budget Planning and Management:
- Assist in the annual operating and capital budgeting processes.
- Assist in the preparation, consolidation, and distribution of budgets and related reports.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as a key liaison between the FP&A team and other departments and leadership, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Provide training and support to department heads and other stakeholders on related matters.
Management/Leadership:
- Provides mentoring and guidance to members of the Finance team fostering professional growth and enhancing team performance.
- Collaborates with other members of the Corporate Finance management team to create a positive, respectful, and team-learning environment.
- Lead and facilitate cross-functional collaboration within finance to implement change initiatives, enhance processes, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring effective communication and alignment across team members.
- Promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion by supporting practices that create a welcoming work environment where everyone can succeed and contribute to Fred Hutch's mission.
- Develops partnerships across the organization to help ensure strong financial performance and support strategic initiatives.
Staff Development:
- Lead team of analysts, providing guidance, counseling, oversight and training.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, and analysis or accounting.
- 1 year of experience in people management.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling
- Advanced knowledge of financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP systems).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced knowledge with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc)
- Proficiency with database tools such as SQL

The annual base salary range for this position is from $118,560 to $187,387, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees a comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance health, well-being, and financial security.
