Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, you’ll:
- Deliver high-quality, multidisciplinary care—including patient assessment, care planning, and health education
- Develop and monitor individualized plans of care
- Provide clinical support and technical assistance to medical and professional staff
- Perform routine vital signs, venipuncture and administer/document medications in accordance with physician orders
- Participate in morning huddles and quality improvement activities
- Complete administrative responsibilities such as forms, prescription refills, referrals and providing patient education
- Field patient calls and respond accordingly
- Maintain infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and universal precautions
- Ensure all care is delivered in a safe environment that minimizes the risk of error
Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree highly preferred
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- Current NYS LPN license
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an outpatient cancer or chemotherapy program
- Proficient with venipuncture and IV insertion
- Experience in the handling and disposal of chemotherapy products and agents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
