IU Health is seeking a patient-focused Genitourinary Oncologist to join our practice in Indianapolis, IN at The Simon Cancer Center. The GU team would like a candidate that can display critical thinking, be proactive and also be a team player.
Position Details:
Full-time- Mon- Fri 8a-4:430P
100%Outpatient
No call schedule
Key Responsibilities
Perform comprehensive assessments of GU oncology patients in the outpatient setting.
Monitor for treatment-related toxicities and assess readiness for systemic therapies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted agents.
Manage symptoms and provide supportive care throughout the cancer care continuum.
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and symptom management.
Participate in tumor boards, clinical rounds, and academic conferences.
Accurately document patient encounters and care plans in the EMR.
Engage in quality improvement and academic initiatives as appropriate.
Guaranteed 4-hour administrative time
Minimum job requirements
NP/PA graduate with oncology experience
New graduates welcome: Oncology experience is a plus, but not required
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and teamwork skills
Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care in an academic setting
