The Clinical Research Nurse will support Fred Hutch Cancer Center Immunotherapy clinical research investigators and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in the implementation, conduct and evaluation of Immunotherapy clinical trials.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Review protocols and develop tools for study implementation including eligibility checklist, study reference materials, standing orders and clinical summaries.
- Determine patient study eligibility, ensure informed consent, and monitor patient's clinical course. Maintain appropriate source documentation, and complete case report forms. Compile and present status reports to PI, research team, sponsors, nursing staff, and physicians.
- Perform clinical procedures including blood draws, vital signs, drug administration, and specimen collection as outlined in the protocols.
- Act as a clinical liaison for protocols with clinical teams, patients, other institutions, and drug companies.
- Educate clinical teams, ancillary departments, patients, and families about protocols and to ensure safe and accurate implementation in compliance with protocol requirements.
- Identify, assess, and report serious adverse events in accordance with protocol and regulatory guidelines, and institutional policy and assist in maintaining IRB and FDA correspondence and regulatory documentation related to patient care and adverse events.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Level of autonomy:
- This role will work under the supervision of the Clinical Research Nurse Supervisor
- The Clinical Research Nurse performs his/her responsibilities within their scope of practice with a high level of independence.
- Works collaboratively with other team members to manage the daily clinical operations of assigned research studies in accordance with regulatory and GCP guidelines and institutional policy.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills including computer skills are essential.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Washington
- Perform procedures including blood draws, vital signs, IV drug administration, provide education to patients regarding protocol treatments i.e chemotherapy drug teach and IEC teach, specimen collection and research assessments as outlined in the protocols.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in oncology and/or research is strongly preferred.
- Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN)

The annual base salary range for this position is from $102,420 to $161,866, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
