University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our growing Adult Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy program.
This role will provide outpatient coverage at the Masonic Cancer Clinic and inpatient coverage at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. The NP/PA works in collaboration with other Advanced Practice Providers, faculty physicians, nurses, and administrative staff to provide comprehensive healthcare and cutting edge therapies to hematology and oncology patients.
In This Role, You Will:
- Perform comprehensive clinical assessment and management of complex patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, phase one clinical trials, and stem cell donation in the hospital and clinic settings.
- Perform admissions, discharges, bedside rounding, write orders and daily progress notes, and manage acute and chronic illnesses.
- Routinely collaborate with multi-disciplinary team including attending MD, consulting physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and research staff.
- Diagnose and manage complications of stem cell transplantation and cellular therapies including systemic infections, acute and chronic graft versus host disease, pancytopenia, cytokine release syndrome, and multi-organ failure.
- Perform bedside procedures including bone marrow aspiration and biopsy, lumbar puncture and skin biopsy.
Your Schedule:
- Part-time, .8 FTE
- When scheduled to work inpatient, hours are 7am-3pm on weekdays.
- When scheduled to work outpatient, 8-hour shift rotates with start times between 7am and 10am on weekdays.
- Weekend inpatient rotation is approx. once every 4 weeks.
- No call coverage
We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
