The Stamatatos Lab, part of the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Division, is a leader in translational vaccine research, dedicated to developing and evaluating innovative HIV vaccination strategies. We leverage a broad range of experimental and computational approaches, seamlessly integrating preclinical immunogen evaluation with clinical testing in collaboration with the HIV Vaccine Trials Network (HVTN) at Fred Hutch.
We are seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow to join our team in cutting-edge HIV-1 vaccine research. This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of vaccine development, focusing on the design, testing, and optimization of novel HIV vaccine candidates in appropriate animal models. The role also involves analyzing immune responses elicited by these vaccines in human phase 1 clinical trials, contributing to groundbreaking advancements in HIV immunology.

Responsibilities
The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow will play a leading role in exploring the activation, expansion, and maturation of vaccine-induced protective B cell responses against HIV-1. This research will span transgenic animal models and ongoing human clinical trials.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A PhD in immunology, microbiology, cell biology, or a related scientific area is required.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in molecular biology and B cell immunology.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work independently within a highly collaborative cross-functional environment is critical, as are strong written, communication and organizational skills.
- The candidate must show initiative and the willingness to take up new skills and responsibilities with urgency and positivity.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A highly motivated individual with expertise in vaccine research, immunology, or related fields.
- Passion for translational research with real-world impact.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $77,976 to $95,014 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
