Maimonides is seeking an Oncology Nurse Specialist to be the clinical leader for a program or area of nursing practice. The advanced knowledge and skills required for this role include clinical expertise in a focus area, evidence-based practice, collaboration, consultation, education, mentoring, and change leadership. The specialized knowledge and skills fall within three areas of focus: patient/family, nurses and nursing practice, and the organization/system. As a Oncology Nurse Specialist, you  will coordinate and guide clinical activities/projects of nurses and is accountable for collaborating with members of the health care team to design, implement, and measure safe, cost effective, evidenced-based care strategies. You will be responsible for maintaining current professional knowledge and competencies and contributing to the advancement of the practice of nursing at the local or national level.

 

• Master’s degree in Nursing or
  Master's degree in Nursing (Graduated preparation must have included clinical application of the CNS role component)
• Minimum 5-7 years of recent clinical experience and expertise in Oncology
• Current license as a registered professional nurse in the State of New York.
• Certification in current clinical specialty by a national certification organization -
  Oncology specialty (OCN) 

  

• Certification in area of specialty (generalist)
• Membership in a professional nursing organization.
• Doctorate in nursing (PhD, EdD or DNP).
